Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Life has a way of wearing us thin. Sometimes it’s the big trials — loss, sickness, or fear of the future. Other times, it’s the steady drip of daily demands that quietly drain us. Weariness whispers to our souls, telling us we don’t have enough strength, patience, or courage left.

But into that whisper, Jesus speaks louder: “Come to me.” His promise is not that we’ll never grow tired, but that we don’t have to carry our burdens alone. Rest is not found in escaping life but in handing it over to Him.

A Word for Today

When weariness whispers, answer back with the Word of God. Lean into His presence, even if all you can manage is a quiet prayer or a deep breath that says, “Lord, I need You.

Reflection Question

Where do you feel the weight of weariness most right now, and what would it look like to bring that burden to Jesus today?

Closing Prayer

Lord, I confess my weariness to You. I have tried to carry too much in my own strength. Teach me to come to You first, to rest in Your presence, and to trust You with the weight of my heart. Amen.
